About Our Story

In November 2021, the companies began interacting with the aim of reviewing the Alimentos Argentinos Seal protocol together with SAGPYA and INTA.

In May 2022, meetings began between the companies and SAGPYA to have the Alimentos Argentinos Seal modify the protocol to cover the characteristics of textured soy protein produced in Argentina, and the information provided by the CAA (Código Alimentario Argentino) was reviewed.

In collaboration with INTA Oliveros and Marcos Juárez, a study of the physicochemical parameters of both raw materials and textured soy was conducted between May and August 2022. The aim was to compile a technical report on the soy textured products currently available in Argentina, including: Characterization of textured soy products produced by Argentine processing plants.

The report was presented in September 2022: To SAGPYA for the modification of the Alimentos Argentinos Seal protocol. To SENASA to raise awareness of a significant ingredient in the processed meat industry. To the National Food Commission (CONAL) for an update of Chapter 19 of the Argentine Food Code, ensuring the legal framework aligns with the industry's evolution.

During the meetings discussions began on how to institutionalize a grouping of all companies in the sector. Presentations were made to SAGPYA regarding decrees that directly or indirectly affect the sector. There were various meetings with national authorities to raise awareness of the industry's activities.
